Key Differences with the UN55ES7500 model

The UN55ES8000 is different from the UN55ES7500 Samsung is a couple of significant ways. One is the Micro Dimming Ultimate local dimming backlight feature which strengthens contrast and picture quality by producing brighter white in light areas and black blacks in dark areas of the screen. This is generally the phenomenon we think of as Contrast Ratio. This TVs Contrast ratio is off the charts good due to the local dimming backlighting provided by the super LED lights.

Smart Interaction

Crazy Feature! Talk to it. “Taxi Wave” and “Orange Squeeze”
This is a new feature on the UN55ES8000. It’s crazy and cool at the same time. Ever want to talk to your TV? How about yell at it? Now you can and it will or may listen to you and obey your command. At least you will be able to turn it on and off that way. There is also facial recognition software. This allows the TV to single you out to know your own settings. The motion-by-hand control allows you to bring up then select options and settings and Smart TV selections. You just kind of wave your hand in front of it, let’s call it the taxi wave. Do the taxi wave and the various options will appear at the bottom of the screen. Those are your choices. Now, take control of the mouse on screen with your hand by directing the mouse to it and select one by closing your hand. Let’s call this closing motion the “orange squeeze.” The front facing camera on top of the screen allows all this to take place. That and the “brains” in the TV.

Oh So Fine Like a Brick House!

This TV is hot looking!
She’s Hot! This TV has a super thin presense of only a little over an inch whilst the side frameis but .2 or .3 inches in width. There is that small camera perched atop to add a little height there but you really do not notice it. You almost cant even see the frame on the TV all you notice is the picture that’s on screen.

Access the Web and Play!

You can access the Internet without problem with the full QWERTY remote control that comes with the TV. Type in search terms or direct the TV at your whimsy.

Internet Access Smart TV with Built in Wifi

You can access the web and all the Internet TV Apps which are preloaded by Samsung on to this TV through built in Wifi access. Many of the Apps are paid for services like Neflix, Hulu Plus, Amazon on Demand while others are smaller paid Apps developed by amateur Apps developers and cost very little to download.

Input Jacks

For such a slim TV the UN55ES8000 has lots of input options. 4 HDMI inputs are available and these are the most useful for most people. At least 1 component and 1 composite input are connectable also. These are included through what is called a breakout cable which Samsung includes in the box.

3D Viewing Sweet!

The 3D viewing is second only to perhaps the best plasma TVs on the market. It is active 3 dimensional through active shutter glasses. Two pairs come in the box. The superb light from the LEDs help to give you a great depth of appearance which makes 3D much more involved and enjoyable.

2D to 3D Conversion Not so Fantastic!

The ES8000 television contains this option if you want to try to watch two dimensional movies or other programming in 3D. It may not seem as deep as 3D programming that was filmed by a 3D camera.

HD Viewing Amazing! Get Comfortable because you’re not going anywhere!

You may be amazed to realize you are watching 2 dimensional programming if you happen upon a good HD broadcast signal with this TV. That scenario will keep your haunches glued to your seat! The UN55ES8000 has a whole new panel from Samsung which includes better black output and color accuracy. The adjectives to describe the picture

Multi Screen Viewing. Two screens in One!

The UN55ES8000 has the ability to show two images at once through the use of a dual core processor built in the TV. So with this you can see your Smart TV Web Apps on one side while watching TV programming on the other.

Internet Access

Built in Wifi and Samsung’s extensive Smart TV Smart Hub facility with all the Internet options Samsung has available are included with the 55ES7500. Apps that are included in Samsung’s Smart Hub options include:

Hulu Plus, Neflix, Vudu, MLB, Rovi, Facebook, Twitter, You Tube,and there are lots of small non-premium Apps that cost between .99 and $3.99. Skype is also an included App and option due to the unique and cool front facing camera on the top of the TV.

Web Work

There is full web browser included in this TV for accessing the Internet so you can basicly go anywhere you want. There is what is called a QWERTY Remote control which has a full keyboard for typing in word search. One side of the remote is the QWERTY keyboard and the other side is the normal keyed remote.

Smart Interaction

There is a new feature on the UN55ES7000 that enables you to use voice or hand motions to interface with the TV. There is also facial recognition software built into the system to enable the TV to know your face from others and therefore set the TVs settings to your liking or pre-set condition. This radical feature will allow you to turn on and off the TV with a command by voice or wave your hand in front of it to change some settings or access Smart TV options. All this is possible because of the front facing camera mounted to the top of the TV.

This TV is superb for 3D viewing. The 3D is called active 3D due to the active-shutter 3D glasses that must be used in order to see the 3D images on the screen. The 3D viewing is very deep with great vibrancy and colors are fully saturated from the excellent contrast on this top TV.
